FAQs
What is a rapid (antigen) test?
Rapid screening tests detect the presence of proteins (or antigens) on the surface of the SARS-CoV-2 virus (the virus which causes COVID-19) from your nasal secretions.
A swab sample collected from your lower nasal passages will be used to perform the test. The result will be available 15 minutes after testing.
A doctor’s prescription is not necessary for this test.
What happens if my test result is positive?
If you receive a positive result on your rapid antigen test, you should contact your local Public Health department for further direction.
How can I get a copy of my rapid screening test results?
You can choose to wait for a paper copy of your test results, and/or you can opt to receive your results by email.
Why are you charging patients for these tests?
Rapid screening tests are not covered by provincial health services for any part of the testing visit.
Patients can see if they qualify for and where they can obtain government-funded COVID-19 testing by visiting their provincial health or government websites and checking the most recent guidelines.
What is your cancellation policy for an appointment?
Please use the link in the booking confirmation email or contact the testing clinic location directly to cancel, at least 24 hours in advance of your test.
If you booked your appointment on the same day that you are attending, please contact the testing clinic directly to cancel your appointment.
What do I need to do to prepare for my testing appointment?
We require that all patients wear a mask when they visit our clinic. If you are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19, or who have been in close contact with a known case of COVID-19, please notify our staff immediately upon your arrival, regardless of vaccination status, so they can immediately show you to an exam room.
