Occupational Health Specialists have extensive knowledge of potential hazards that exist in the workplace, and how to prevent or treat them. They are advocates for workers, and have extensive knowledge of provincial laws, as they apply to the workplace and illness and injury.
WHAT DO THEY DO:
An Occupational Health Specialist will focus on the prevention and management of workplace illnesses, injuries and disabilities. They promote health and safety in the workplace, and encourage a safe and timely return to work date. They are also able to provide a certificate of fitness for the workplace, if your employer or potential employer requires one.
